Atuhaire Ambrose is 12 years old and attends Primary three in Arch Angels primary school in Masaka district. She is one of four children and lives with his mother. His mother is a housewife and HIV positive; his father passed on in December 2010. As a result, Ambrose has been constantly chased out of school because of the family’s failure to pay for tuition.

In January 2023 Ambrose was identified as one of the vulnerable children to benefit from PALCO Uganda sponsorship program as his schooling had been compromised due to finances. His life has changed and he is now studying to become a medical doctor and no longer has to worry about missing school.
